Lincoln child “Kynzlee the Warrior” prepares for fourth open-heart surgery – KOLN

LINCOLN, Neb. (KOLN) – One of Lincoln’s strongest residents is one their way to getting stronger.
3-year-old Kynzlee Killin was born in October 2020 with two major forms of congenital heart disease. She has lived her life with just half of her heart.
Starting at just five days old, she has undergone three open heart surgeries and is currently preparing for her fourth and final one in July.
“She was having 10 to 15 doctor’s appointment’s a month, and just constantly they had to check up on her,” Breanna Killin, Kynzlee’s mom, said. “It definitely put us in a huge state of fear, but we never lost hope. We never wanted to sell her short.”
Now the entire Killin family is preparing to travel to Texas, where Kynzlee’s upcoming surgery will take place, for a majority of July as she recovers.
They are currently raising funds to help pay for the cost of the trip through lemonade stands and a GoFundMe.
