Jawan box office collection day 26: Shah Rukh Khan's blockbuster refuses to slow down, nears Rs 1100 crore … – The Indian Express

Capitalising on the Gandhi Jayanti national holiday on Monday, Shah Rukh Khan’s Jawan delivered another solid performance at the box office. The film barely has any records to beat anymore, but it played about as well in its fourth weekend as many other movies do in their first. According to industry tracker Sacnilk, Jawan collected Rs 6.8 crore on its fourth Monday (day 26 of release), which takes its total domestic collections to Rs 611 crore.
Jawan is the first Hindi movie to pass the Rs 600 crore barrier in the domestic market, after overtaking Shah Rukh’s own Jawan to become the biggest Hindi movie of all time in India. Jawan is currently the second-biggest Hindi film at the global box office, with just under Rs 1100 crore to its name. The list is topped by Aamir Khan’s Dangal, which made most of its money in China.
In its fourth weekend, Jawan added a stupendous Rs 22 crore across India. On day 26, the action drama registered a nationwide occupancy of 34% for its Hindi version, while the Tamil and Telugu versions have largely stopped circulation. By comparison, this week’s new releases, Fukrey 3 and The Vaccine War made Rs 54 crore and Rs 7 crore respectively in four days of release.
Jawan broke the records for the biggest opening day, opening weekend, and opening week for a Hindi release. It also became the fastest Hindi movie to pass the Rs 100 crore, Rs 200 crore, Rs 300 crore, Rs 400 crore and Rs 500 crore marks. The film also earned Shah Rukh the unique distinction of becoming the only Bollywood actor to deliver two Rs 1000 crore-plus grossers in a single year.
Pathaan and Jawan are largely responsible for the commercial rebound that Bollywood cinema has witnessed this year, following several months of uncertainty. Other Hindi movies that have done well this year are the romantic dramas Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar, Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani, Zara Hatke Zara Bachke and Satyaprem Ki Katha, and the controversial film The Kerala Story.
