Deploy technology to fight insecurity – NSE to government – Daily Post Nigeria

Governments at all levels have been advised to deploy adequate technology in the detection and prevention of crime in the country.
A Superintendent of Police, Yakubu Abdulmumin made the call at a programme organised by the Nigerian Society of Engineers, NSE, Ado Ekiti branch.
He explained that the use of technology would address the internal security challenges in Nigeria and can be used to locate the bases of bandits, terrorists and other criminals.
Yakubu who is also a member of the NSE, said technologies such as drones and robotics could be used for efficient and effective policing in Nigeria.
Ekiti branch chairman of the NSE, Segun Aluko decried the insecurity in the country and called on the government to provide necessary equipment for security agents to perform their duties effectively.
Aluko said the lecture was organized to proffer solutions to insecurity in the country and appealed to security agents to double their efforts in the interest of Nigerians.
