The UCLA Bruins (3-2) and the USC Trojans (4-0) have reached the end of a wild Pac-12 football schedule and will meet at the Rose Bowl, if everything goes according to plan, on Saturday afternoon without fans. A first in the rivalry that has survived unusual moments in its history
It will be the 90th meeting between the two teams, with USC leading the crosstown series 32-48-7* (USC vacated two wins in 2004, 2005).The teams split the last eight meetings but the Bruins have won three of the last four games at the Rose Bowl. The Bruins are also undefeated at home this season.
The Trojans enter the game ranked No. 15 in the College Football Playoff rankings and No. 16 on the Associated Press’ Top 25 poll. They’re one win away from a Pac-12 South title, the first step toward getting back to championship standards. The Bruins are unranked but received one vote on the poll.
#Pac12FB Poll: 'IF' UCLA were able to beat an undefeated No. 16 USC on Saturday in the Rose Bowl, would the Bruins sneak into the AP Top 25 (or at least earn some strong consideration)?

The Bruins’ 13-9 victory at home over the No. 2 Trojans in 2006 was the last time an unranked UCLA team beat a ranked USC team.
Both teams, like many others across the nation, have battled the coronavirus throughout the season. UCLA managed to play five games, despite having one canceled because of an outbreak within the Utah program. The administration moved quickly and was able to add Cal to the schedule as a replacement that week.
Quarterback Dorian Thompson-Robinson and defensive back Quentin Lake were among a group of Bruins that returned last week from quarantine.
USC remains unbeaten after four games. The Trojans had one cancellation (against Colorado Nov. 28) after they were unable to field enough scholarship players that week.
The Trojans bounced back in a big way with a dominant first quarter by the duo of quarterback Kedon Slovis and receiver Amon-Ra St. Brown against Washington State on Dec. 6.
After a sometimes-shaky start to the season, Slovis completed a season-high 78.1% of his passes for 287 yards and five touchdowns against Washington State. Four of those five touchdown passes were caught by St. Brown.
